Elevate The Art. Expand The Opportunity.
To provide a national platform that celebrates the art and culture of stepping while developing leaders, creating access and strengthening communities.
The Stompdown is a national platform where stepping, education, leadership and community come together—creating opportunities for teams across generations to be seen, celebrated and developed.
The Stompdown began in Tallahassee, Florida, in 2006 as a new stage for non-Divine Nine Greek step teams that did not have access to the existing university homecoming competition.
That first event grew into The Nation’s Largest Step Championship—bringing elementary, middle school, high school, independent and Greek teams from across the country into one competitive platform.
Today, The Stompdown reaches beyond competition. Its festival experiences connect teams, families, educators, artists, businesses and community leaders through culture, development and shared opportunity.
To provide a national platform that celebrates the art and culture of stepping while developing leaders, creating access and strengthening communities.
To build a nationally recognized movement where step teams of every generation and affiliation can compete, grow and connect through excellence.
Every Stompdown experience is designed around the values that have shaped the organization from the beginning.
A championship platform that challenges teams to bring excellence, discipline and originality to the stage.
College, career and professional-development opportunities that prepare participants for life beyond performance.
Experiences that build confidence, teamwork, responsibility and the courage to create new opportunities.
A shared space for students, families, schools, organizations, businesses and supporters to connect.
The Stompdown includes both a business organization and a nonprofit foundation, working across events, youth empowerment, education and community engagement.
